Happy New Year!

Happy New Year to you all and welcome to Spring term.

If you were lucky enough to visit some where in the UK during the holidays please send us some photos so we can add them to our UK display boards in class! These can be given to a member of staff or emailed to rellis37ru@nsix.org.uk

This week in maths we have continued to look at multiplication.

This super video explains what arrays are...

There is also a great game you can play...

As part of you home learning can you use different toys such as lego to make different arrays?
Here we have 4 lots of 3 (4 x 3)
or 3 lots of 4 (4 x 4)

Our new topic for this term is 'Off With Their Heads' and is all about castles! This week in English we have been learning lots of facts about castles and next week we will be doing some non-fiction writing about the various features of castles. We have also been learning how to spell some trick words- can you remember the mnemonic for castle? (Castles Are So Tall Like Elephants)We have also recapped using commas in a list. As part of your home learning you could visit the library to find some non-fiction books about castles. Can you discover any new facts? These can be written down in your Home Learning Books.

We hope you are able to join us for one of our internet safety sessions. The children have been learning about staying safe online all year and this week have been designing posters to share some important messages.
There are two sessions and you are welcome to attend either-

Tuesday 15th January 7 pm at Garrick Green Infant School
Thursday 24th January 9 am at Lodge Lane Infant School

FOGG are running a film club on Friday 25th January starting at 3pm in the school hall. If your child would like to attend to watch Sing tickets cost £5 and this includes popcorn and a drink. Please see a member of staff to fill in a form.
